Top 5 Tips To Relaunch Your Fitness Journey This January 2019

1. HAVE YOUR GOAL IN MIND AND DON'T FORGET IT

When you first start your fitness journey it’s so so important to have your goal and to not lose sight of why you are doing it, especially in the first few weeks. It's so easy to be so enthused in the first few weeks of the year when everyone is so motivated, but this can easily wear off if you don't keep in sight your end goal. When I first started my fitness journey 3 years ago, I followed so many Instagram pages and Pinterest boards and honestly got kind of obsessed with how I wanted to look. It's the greatest motivator when you start out but honestly the key is habit and to keep pushing yourself no matter what and always having that goal in mind will get you through it.

2. DETERMINATION

Fitness is not something that just happens overnight it takes a long time of determination and motivation and really does turn into your lifestyle. It's having the ability to be able to have the days when you indulge but not going up on your long-term goal and then working harder because of that.

3. HEALTH

Something that really helped me was not only working out and eating better for my appearance but also my health and well being. Fitness is really something that has helped my anxiety which a lot of people usually wouldn't think of, but it really has for me. Having the time on my own to just devote an hour to working on myself and feeling myself and my body has done a lot for me and my emotional outlet which I am not great at maintaining lol! Not only has it helped mental health side but also my physical health as I am anaemic, I often struggle a lot with tiredness and recently started to have a lot of back pain, my overall fitness has helped with my day to day routine like sleep for example, when I smash my workouts I have the best sleeps of my life!

4. ENCOURAGEMENT

Encouragement is so so key to be able to continue your fitness journey. throughout the year not just through January. You can do anything from starting a group chat where you and your friends or colleges all can motivate each other, or what I do and post on my Instagram about it all the time lol. Just so people know and can encourage or even discourage, to give you that motivation where you do not give up on your goal.

5. SUPPLIES!

Supplies are just as necessary as anything else here on the list because if you don't have the correct things you need to fulfil your fitness journey it is easy for you to start up lazy habits again. Personally I like to have my protein, lots of fruit in the house and things that I can snack on which are good for me because this is where my downfall is I am a major snacker and I know if I don’t make a protein shake it is very easy for me to go and get a bar of chocolate when I’m craving it. Something else that encourages me if finding a kick ass playlist to work out in the gym to. I am one of these people who puts my headphones on full blast and completely zone out and if I don't have good motivational tunes to help me through that isn't going to work and I will get bored and distracted. So, make sure you know what your downfalls are and what you can do to avoid them!
