I wanted to write a blog post about my fitness journey as I want to really emphasise that fitness does not happen over night and you have to keep working on it. I joined my gym in March 2016 and before that I really didn't have much interest in keeping fit at all as I have always been an appropriate weight for my frame as I am petite. I joined the gym just on the basis because I thought I probably should not for the fact that I want to or enjoy it. Me and Kieran would go after work in the week and like you do when you first go to the gym and I imagine most people can relate, all you do is cardio because your so scared of the weight section lol!

It was probably last September 2016 when I was having a really down few weeks and just felt so shit about myself, when actually wanted to make a change in my body. I first got a fitness plan of different exercises to help me get what I want out of the gym. I bought all new workout clothes to make me feel better and motivated to go as well, as you know I'm so driven by clothes lol! But seriously since then I got to work! I really wanted to make a difference and a change in my life and to stop hating my body and comparing myself to everyone else! Since getting the fitness plan I know my way around the gym and do everything I would never have done before and really don't give a shit who's looking at me because I'm getting buff lol

I also have made a big change in my diet, and actually care about what I put into myself. I try to have my 3 main meals a day and have smaller high protein inbetween my main meals, just to make sure i'm not snaking on naughty food inbetween meals. I have incorporated the good old protein shake into my diet as well and make sure I have one day as one of my inbetween meals, usually after I've done my workout and also trying to cut out sugar during the week days. This year about February time, I have really been seeing results which has honestly inspired me to do more and work harder. I have really been using my time where I haven't been working to try and invest more into myself. The last two months I have been really stepping up my game, by making sure I go to the gym at least 3 times a week and walking there and back or getting dropped there and walking back, which is good as I can do my workout and get an hour in of cardio which i would usually avoid.

Now I'm not going to lie to you and say I eat clean everyday and I always make sure I go to the gym as much as I can every week, because sometime it's just not possible and it doesn't happen! But it's about making sure your consistent and not giving up on your goal! I always look at all these fitness people on Instagram and think, shit why don't I look like that. But don't get down that you don't look like that and have the motivation to get like that, if that's what you really want to do and is your goal. Don't think of your not so great days as failures, just move on! There's always next week or tomorrow to start again and just keep going! Since getting into fitness the mental befits have probably been one of the best parts for me. I used to really hate my body but every day I'm working on it and I'm making it better, it's helping me to love myself more and more. I know I've still got a long way to go and I've only been doing this for 9 months but the changes that I've seen are pushing me to keep going!
