I have now been on the pill for three years and when I first started I didn't have the best first impression. When I went to my GP to start the pill they put me on one and I had the worst reaction to it. I have honestly never been so so ill in my life! I had a temperature and was violently sick for two weeks just because I refused to stop taking it, as I thought my body would eventually adapt if I continued taking it. I was sooo wrong. It got so bad I had to go to the emergency doctors and when I got there they informed me that my GP had put me on the cheapest pill, so that was nice of them. My body is very very sensitive to basically everything that goes into it so that wasn't great.

After this, I had a little break from it until I went back to my GP and they got me on a new one. And since then I have been on the same pill ever since. I am on the pill called "Cerelle" which is a combination mini pill which has been great for me.

After all that with the first pill I have had absolutely no problems with it at all. And when I first started the pill I found that my hormones were all over the place. I didn't know how I was feeling and one minute I felt happy then I'd burst into tears. This was a worry for me when I first started on the pill as I have a history of depression I didn't know if this would trigger anything and I would fall back into it again. But now after a couple of months of my body getting use to the pill, I feel so in charge of my emotions and feel so much more stable. Month by month my periods have been becoming less and less which have been so good and gave me one less thing to worry about lol! Something else which has improved so much is my skin! When I was younger I had always had really bad skin as I do suffer from dry skin and eczema and when I would be on my period and a week leading up to it, my skin would be awful! So for half the year my skin would be bad, which would impact my mental health as well. Over the last two years my skin has defiantly cleared up, even if I do get a period now, my skin is no where near as bad as it use to be which I think is also a combination of healthy eating and exercises as well.

I am in such a good place with my body at the moment and feel so in control of it which is something I haven't really ever had before. The last two years or so I've really made a conscious effort to get to know my body which I think we should all do and I've never felt so strong and confident in my own skin. I feel that the pill for me has enhanced my life and made all them female issues so much easier!
